The first feedback

Can’t tell you how excited I am with the feedback from both name as female readers after reading ‘An Open Shift’. Here some of them. Can’t wait to hear from you!!

The real story behind GoodsPrint and Bridget

In ‘An Open Shift’ you will read how Rick finds a job with a company named GoodsPrint and meets their CEO, Bridget. I tried to keep the story as close as possible to people and topics I know.

In this case, I needed a start-up. I was inspired for this part by the new venture SwissDecode (https://swissdecode.com/) by my good friend Brij Sahi – their CEO. SwissDecode is offering solutions for the safe food supply chain, where they guarantee the quality of products and food. In the story, I took that somewhat further where GoodPrint offers IoA, identification of Anything. Without spoiling too much they describe various fun use cases in the book.

Knowing Brij is the CEO of SwissDecode you now also understand why Bridget is called Bridget.

What other sub story in the book would you like to know more about?

It’s 6am

6am. The house is quiet, the birds are chirping…. Perfect zen-moment to continue the editing of ‘An Open Shift’. It’s getting there….

Last phase…

I started the copy editing phase of ‘An Open Shift’ in our local coffee shop. Giving it a push to be ready before end of April..

An odd and scary feeling that this will be out in public soon!

Real-life inspirations

Writing your first novel allows you to take much inspiration from your own life. In ‘An Open Shift’, at a certain moment, Rick starts a secret relationship at work with his own wife and uses corporate email to send her an email, with his love message encoded in the message.

Around 12 years ago the same thing happened when I met Marina, my wife. Here a work email to Marina with many in the company in copy. Did you get it?
